Sandra is an anxious wreck who feels sick very easily. If there's something to fret about, they'll get on it. They like folk punk, Oaxaca-based alternative bands and patchy, baggy clothing. The combination of the chemical apocalypse and their rumination-prone OCD does not do good things for their wellbeing. In adverse circumstances they tend to escape into their head. Hopefully they'll be able to adapt to this rapidly changing landscape and last long enough to see their fears quelled...right?
Violet is fiery and decisive, though this tends to scare some people who aren't used to her personality. Her strategy for the coming end-times is to harden up, take no shit and beat all ass. That would work pretty well if she were more used to running in rough terrain. She likes calming herbs (in all forms), sacreligious apparel, and eldritch female monsters that could vaporize her with a look. She'll do anything to protect herself and her friends...which they may not always appreciate enough.
Helen is "quiet and spacey" ... in reality their mental scape is ear-splittingly loud. She likes meringue cookies, fluffy clothes, playing the melodica and watching the same shows over and over. Helen is an indulger of old, old habits, and while the apocalypse has shaken their world to its core, maybe there's no harm in starting anew--especially now that she's without her Evangelical Christian family, which has dictated many an experience in their life, oftentimes for the worse.
Isaiah, or Zay, is what we'd call "the responsible one." He is probably the only one out of these four who knows how to use an ax or properly start a fire. His goal is to keep the group on track and safe, while trying to sympathize with everyone's personal needs as well--it's not easy being the mediator in this group of kinda-babies. She likes video games, beef ramen, and indulges in both old funk and bubblegum pop. He probably still has his tamagotchi from when he was 7.
Seven young adults, all with their own plans for life outside Newark NJ, are suddenly hit with a chemical apocalypse that's turned the region into a zombie-infested quarantine tank. Thinking on their feet, they decide to flee to the woods in hopes of somehow escaping, but find that the outside world isn't the only thing holding them back--old frenemies, new turf rivals, heightened tensions amongst the group as well as their own deeply embedded personal problems threaten to tear them apart before any zombies or wilderness threat will.
Let's Camp! is a queer apocalypse story with lots of laughs, cries, fears, friends and fun as a group of unique goobers try to navigate this awful new world and reevaluate their old relationships.
