aka the most SCI FI i'll ever get ;)
186F follows a peppy, daring girl named Jackie who lives in the residential mines of Planet Terracy with her father. Terracy’s surface is fraught with danger, the atmosphere toxic and too thick to breathe. Humanity has since burrowed underground and lives in a web of tunnels and mines within the planet’s crust. After an accident with a mysterious machine, Jackie wakes up in some random dude's house...on the technological hub of Kepler 186F.
186F is definitely meant to be a more child-friendly endeavor; I always imagine it becoming some sort of cartoon, but that will obviously happen way way later down the line.
A more recent lineup of 4 of the main characters! My tentative rename for this project is Tales From Terracy. Tales of Terracy? We'll work on it. 3 of these characters got a major overhaul in terms of outfit, except Elias because hes perfect <3 I'm drawing heavy influence from afrofuturist and afropunk fashion, which you might be able to see in Jackie and Gabe's looks. Alt costumes coming soon!
The Machine! by lemon demon plays. Jackie discovers it in a deep, abandoned area of the mines, and it looks dingy as hell. Somehow it still works?? Girl finds that out at a bit of an inopportune time (SHES BEEN FUCKING TRANSPORTED.) Courtesy of Lieber Labs.
Jackie's home! The residential mines of Terracy are cozily-lit earth mines reminiscent of cave dwellings in Cappadocia. Private and public carts are used to get around the neighborhoods and multi-leveled town squares. Think Vaultec, but more...earthy.
The minepath buses! Medium-size public transit designed to get around the single-rail paths in some of the more local tunnels. The conductor can customize their space however they want. Maybe they have the fuzzy dice hanging over their dash (though maybe not, since you dont want it to get caught on anything hanging overhead)
